To support your efforts, we've summarized 10 action items that will help you improve your program and meet the evolving needs of learners. Implementing these steps will enable you to enhance the learner experience, increase program visibility, and drive growth.

  1. Develop a credential design framework to implement, scale, and measure your program.
  2. Invest in online search and referral programs to increase enrollments.
  3. Develop and market learning pathways to visually communicate what courses a learner needs to take to master a desired skill.
  4. Adopt a comprehensive approach to using all metadata fields available in each digital credential ensuring earning and completion criteria are included and highlighting skills acquired.
  5. Integrate opportunities to apply and/or test acquired skills via projects or assessments into every learning program.
  6. Educate learners about the value of digital credentials, specifically on how they are verifiable/protected against fraud and easily recovered, and when shared can effectively communicate their skills or achievements to current or future employers.
  7. Provide guidance on how and why learners can use/share credentials, and send targeted emails to remind them to share. Also, be sure to engage with learners who share their credentials online.
  8. Where appropriate, offer a directory of credential holders to help connect learners with future opportunities
  9. Offer personalized recommendations so learners know what courses to take next.
  10. Track and act on key performance indicators (KPIs) at each stage of the learning journey to optimize program performance.
